ASAPC 2010-2011
Welcome to the ASA Parent Committee! As parents of ASA students, you are automatically a member of the school's parent-volunteer organization, the ASAPC!
The ASAPC is dedicated to creating opportunities for parent involvement in support of ASA's mission and provides pathways to connect families with our school community.
We accomplish these objectives through volunteering and fundraising. We know that our involvement is not only critical to ASA, but that it sends a strong message to our children, as nothing else can, that their success and happiness in school is important enough for us to take the time to be there.
ASAPC fundraising efforts directly benefit the school and the students. Each year we make a financial gift to the school; our target last year was $30,000 which we exceeded by $6,000. For the 2011/2012 school year we have made a commitment of $40,000. The Parent Committee is also the vehicle through which much of the extra-curricular activities of our students are organized and supported. We also supplement field trips and competition registration fees, ensuring that all students can participate.
ASAPC loves to encourage a sense of community among ASA parents and this year we are focusing some of our efforts on improving opportunities to interact socially with each other.
The Executive Parent Committee serves as a steering group to organize and promote these activities and fundraising efforts. Committee chairs are identified at the end of each school year and meet during the summer to begin planning the next year's activities. All parents are welcome and encouraged to come to the ASAPC meetings each month; watch out for the dates of upcoming meetings in the ASATW (ASA This Week).
We understand that the timing of the monthly meeting might not suit everyone so if you would like to know more about how to get involved and can’t make it to the meeting please complete the Parent Participation Form (located on the PC Forms Tab) and drop it into the school office or simply email the PC with your contact information and we will call you.
